Threads of Hope

Every piece of craftsmanship begins with a person — someone with imagination, creativity, skill and a unique way of seeing the world.

Threads of Hope is a celebration of those people.

Through BANYA's collaboration with Bayside Community Care, we have brought together individually hand-embroidered works that reflect the creativity, patience and personal expression of the women who made them.

Each piece carries something of its maker: her attention to detail, artistic vision and the time devoted to bringing an idea to life.

We believe craftsmanship deserves recognition, meaningful work deserves to be valued, and every person deserves to be seen for more than their circumstances.

The People Behind the Craft

The women who embroidered these pieces have already been paid for their work, regardless of whether an individual hat sells. Their craftsmanship is the focus of this collection, and their circumstances do not define their creativity or worth.

The collection is connected to Bayside Community Care's Threads of Hope initiative. You can learn more about its work and options for offering additional support directly through the organisation.

Hand-Embroidered Sauna Hats — Each One Unique

The collection features 25 individually hand-embroidered sauna hats made from 100% New Zealand wool. Each embroidery design is different, with only one of each available.

Wool has long been used in Finnish saunas and Russian banyas for its natural insulating properties, helping slow heat transfer around the head. These hand-embroidered wool sauna hats bring together a practical part of sauna tradition and the artistic vision of their makers.

Explore the designs below and discover the craftsmanship behind each one.
